Make Mobile Shortcuts for the Web App

iOS Shortcut Instructions

If you’re a Safari user: 

  1. Open https://thegapp.app in Safari (or most preferred internet browser). 

  1. Look for the share icon in the bottom middle of your screen and tap it.  

  1. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen.” 

  1. The shortcut will appear on your home screen. 

 

If you’re a Brave, Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Duck Duck Go user: 

  1. Open shortcuts app on iOS. 

  1. Hit the plus button in the upper right of the screen. 

  1. Tap the Add Action button in the top middle of the screen. 

  1. Search for Open URLs at the top of the Search for Apps and Actions box and tap it. 

  1. After the word “Open,” type in the URL below that matches your preferred internet browser: 

  1. brave://open-url?url=https://thegapp.app 

  1. firefox://open-url?url=https://thegapp.app 

  1. microsoft-edge-https://thegapp.app  

  1. ddgQuickLink://thegapp.app 

  1. Tap the small down arrow at the top center of the screen next to the words Open URL. 

  1. Choose Rename from the menu that pops up, type “GAPP,” and tap Done. 

  1. The menu should stay open (if not, open it again). Tap “Add to Home Screen” 

  1. An icon with the title GAPP should appear on your Home Screen and you can move it around like normal (tap & hold, it will turn shaky). 

  1. When you tap the icon, GAPP will open within your preferred internet browser. 

 

Android Shortcut Instructions

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Navigate to https://thegapp.app

  3. Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to homescreen.

  4. Choose a name for the website shortcut, then Chrome will add it to your home screen.
