Transfer Activities from Workspace to Workspace
There are some cases when a workspace member’s activities need to be transferred to a new workspace. An example case would be if a member created their own workspace and began entering data in that workspace, but now they want their activities moved to their organization or ministry’s workspace in order to collaborate with others. Follow the steps below to transfer some or all activities from one workspace to another workspace.
Only some workspaces have the workspace transfer option. A workspace administrator must set the workspace preferences to permit transfers with or without consent or prevent activity transfers for the workspace.
Only workspace administrators can change the preferences to permit activities to be transferred to external workspaces.
Workspace Administrators - To Permit Workspace to Workspace Transfers:
As a workspace administrator, navigate to the workspace side menu, select Settings then Preferences.
From the drop down menu, choose to allow workspace transfers with consent, transfers without consent, or no transfers permitted. This setting allows you to either prevent activity transfers, require consent for each transfer, or allow transfers without needing any prior approval.
Click save to implement these settings across the workspace.
To Transfer with Consent:
Only workspace owners or workspace admins may transfer data besides their own or own detached member.
If your workspace permits transfers with consent, follow these steps:
From the side menu, select your workspace then select “Members”.
Search for or select the member whose data you want to transfer to a different workspace.
Select “Request transfer to another workspace” and follow the guided steps.
Confirm the transfer.
You may cancel the request from the next page, “Workspace activity transfers”, by selecting the view activities icon.
The workspace owner must approve or deny the activity/activities transfer before you can view the activity in the workspace to which they were transferred.
Workspace Owners - To Approve or Deny Transfers:
Follow the instructions in the email you receive.
Transfer without Consent:
Only workspace creators or workspace admins may transfer data besides their own or own detached member.
If your workspace permits transfers without consent, follow these steps:
From the side menu, select your workspace then select “Members”.
Search for or select the member whose data you want to transfer to a different workspace.
Select “Transfer to another workspace” and follow the guided steps.
Confirm the transfer.
You may view the transferred activities by following steps 1-3 as outlined above and clicking “Manage transfers”.
