How to install GenMapper on Mac

This is a guide that shows how to install Genmapper when you get a security warning about installation when it is notarized or is from an unidentified developer.

After you download the “.dmg” file from Genmapper.com, click on the file to open, sometimes users get a dialogue box indicating that the installation is not secure and must stop. To bypass the error and install the application, please follow the steps below.

The error message is not a true security concern, it is caused by the fact that the Genmapper Mac application is a few years old and has not been significantly updated recently. However, it still works and is still secure.

Follow the steps below to Install the app. after you get an error message saying you

Click on “OK” , And then click on security & Privacy

  • Under the security & privacy click general.

  • Here you will see the options below saying Allow apps downloaded from :

  • And click on the open anyway.

When you click open anyway, you will be prompted to next dialog box showing you various option, click on “Open”

Now you will be prompted to install option for genmapper.

 

Now click on Install Genmapper and follow the instruction for installation of the app in mac.
