Chaining Linking and Repeating properties are set by the Workspace Creator or Workspace Administrator, so templates which can be repeated may differ according to your Workspace. Workspace Administrators may refer to our (upcoming) help article for https://taethni.atlassian.net/wiki/x/WoAtOg. |

Copying an activity is done by clicking the “copy “Copy or chain link an activity” button and selecting the same activity type as the one currently selected. This creates a new copy of the activity and allows the user easily enter the same location and people group information as the previous activity.
Chaining Linking an activity is done by clicking the “copy “Copy or chain link an activity” button and selecting a different activity that was the result of the one currently selected. This creates a new activity that is linked to the currently selected activity. It also allows the user to easily enter the same location and people group information as the previous activity.

Repeating an activity is done by clicking the “repeat “Repeat an activity” button. By default, it will only repeat the same activity as the one currently selected. Repeating means that the same individuals (or mostly the same) individuals were impacted. It can only be used for Human Needs, Evangelism, Discipleship, and Leadership Development activities. Once an activity is repeated, the information about people groups and other certain fields cannot be changed in subsequent activities but only edited at the root activity.
Copying and Chaining Linking count individuals separately, while Repeating an activity will not.
For example, creating a copy of one evangelism attempt at a particular location to another means that the number of individuals impacted is summed. If the first evangelism attempt was to 3 individuals and the second to 4, GAPP would show that 7 different individuals were impacted or heard the gospel. If this same evangelism were done as a repeating activity, GAPP would show that only 4 different individuals were impacted or heard the gospel because it would assume that 3 of the 4 who heard in the second evangelism encounter were the same individuals.
Repeating is helpful for things like evangelism or discipleship where often the same individuals are met with regularly.

Days or hours are always counted separately regardless of whether an activity was repeated, linked, or copied. However, due to repeated activities only being editable at the root activity, they are limited to the following templates:
Activities that are only time defined, like prayer walking and others, should be “copied” and cannot be “repeated.” Copying this will ensure proper counting and means that the activity itself is separate from the previous one and that the hours spent are unique. |
